One of Saskatoon's LGBTQ community's biggest resources has a new name.

The Avenue Community Centre is now known as Out Saskatoon.

The centre opened in 1991 to serve Saskatoon's LGBTQ people.

Out Saskatoon is the only LGBTQ community centre in the province.

The announcement comes just before the beginning of Saskatoon Pride Week, taking place from June 7 to 14.

The new name and branding is meant to make the centre more visible for people who may need it.
