An Alberta man facing numerous break and enter charges in relation to crimes in Saskatchewan is facing an additional 89 charges, bringing the total to 135. Seventy-five of his charges are linked to incidents that occurred in Saskatchewan, according to RCMP.

The investigation included help from officers in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba.

The man’s new charges include 71 counts of break and enter, nine counts of theft of a motor vehicle, 12 counts of theft, 19 counts of possession of property obtained by crime, four counts of arson to property and numerous gun charges.

“The investigation has linked him to crimes that occurred in 24 of Saskatchewan’s RCMP Detachment jurisdiction where many rural properties were being targeted,” RCMP said in a media release.

He was first arrested in Saskatchewan in August when a business in Moosomin, Sask. reported a break-in. After the man was arrested, a search warrant was conducted and officers found a significant amount of cash, numerous tools and a loaded gun that was stolen from a home in Albert over the winter.

Two months later RCMP laid 30 additional break and enter and theft charges against the man. At that time he was accused in connection to multiple break-ins at business and recreational camper trailers across Saskatchewan.

The man remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court June 16.
