A 59-year-old man has drowned after the boat he was in capsized on a lake northwest of Prince Albert.

The accident happened on Fish Lake, north of Canwood.

RCMP officers say Paul Grimard, his wife, and his 6-year-old grandson were on the water Wednesday when their aluminum boat overturned.

The child was found clinging to the boat and was rescued.  The man's wife was able to swim to shore.  But Grimard did not make it.

An investigation is underway into the incident, but RCMP don't believe lifejackets were worn by the three in the boat.
