KidSport officially launched it’s corporate challenge on Wednesday.

A number of special guests were on hand for the kick-off Wednesday morning at the Education Building at the University of Saskatchewan, including Mayor Don Atchsion, who showed his support by running in a relay race.

The corporate challenge raises money for children who wouldn’t otherwise get the chance to play an organized sports.

“Some kids just don’t get a chance because of financial reasons, and so what we’re doing here is we’re saying it doesn’t matter what level you’re at with athletic ability. You should have a chance to play,” Mayor Atchison said.

Last year, the challenge raised more than $50,000.
