The Sasktel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival and Saskatoon Pride Festival are teaming up this summer.
The two festivals overlap for three days and will collaborate on Saturday June 24 with the annual pride parade making its way through downtown Saskatoon and ending up near the jazz festival’s main stage.
“We thought this was a perfect opportunity,” Danny Papadatos with the Saskatoon Pride Festival said. “Celebrating, bringing the communities together and really expanding both festivals to new demographics, to new communities. And melding them all together as one, for one fantastic day in the park that we're really excited about.”
Papadatos said the pride parade will make its way downtown between 1p.m. and 2:30 p.m. before ending near the Delta Bessborough Hotel, where Hawksley Worman will be headlining the free stage that evening.
The pride festival runs June 3 - June 25, while the jazz festival runs June 23 - July 2.
