The victim's headstone in one of Saskatoon's most notorious unsolved murder cases has been smashed.

The headstone marks the grave of Alexandra Wiwcharuk, who was murdered in 1962. The crime has never been solved, and has been the subject of books as well as a television documentary.

Wiwcharuk's headstone lies at Woodlawn Cemetery, and it's not the only one smashed. The superintendent of the cemetery says several others were also vandalizes in the same incident several weeks ago.

Police do not believe there is any link to the still-active murder case.
