Giant icicle still standing - sort of

The giant icicle that captured Saskatoon’s attention last week is still standing.

After a compliance order was issued to take the icicle down within 24 hours on Friday, crews gave it their best. However, the project was put on hold after it out to be a tougher job than initially thought. On Saturday, half of the ice was still there.

Crews will return to the site on Avenue W North with bigger equipment on Monday to get rid of the leftover mess.

  Now it looks like there maybe a new contender for the biggest icicle in town. This one is in the 600 block of Eighth street. The icy buildup is all the way down the side of the building, wraps around the corner and hangs over the parking garage
