Friends have identified a 19-year-old man killed Saturday night after an ATV rollover in Lanigan, Sask.

Drew Rossen, 19, was pronounced dead on scene. On June 10, RCMP were called to a serious ATV side-by-side rollover in a field just north of the Lanigan High School around 9:15 p.m. Police say the 18-year-old man driving the ATV was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

A GoFundMe Page for Rossen has raised more than $20,000 in less than a day.

Rossen was a former student at the high school in Lanigan. The Horizon School Division released a statement Monday saying it is deeply shocked and saddened by the crash. “Our hearts reach out to the family, friends and community of Lanigan and area at this incredibly difficult time.”

The school division says it has dispatched a team of professionals who are providing support to students, staff, and families. The division also said since the crash happened so close to the end of the school year, it will be trying to make sure students have help over the summer months.
