Up to 100 people are being evacuated from the northern community of Fond du Lac due to severe smoke pouring into their community.
Forest fires are raging in the area and officials made the call to evacuate the 100 affected people to Prince Albert on Saturday.
Several organizations are working to make the evacuation go as smoothly as possible, including members of the province’s emergency response team, the ministries of social services and environment.
Officials said they will supply an update Sunday to the state of the fire and evacuees on Sunday morning.
