All eyes were on the South Saskatchewan River Thursday morning. For a few tense moments, a boat was seen going in circles in the water between the University Bridge and the Broadway Bridge, and the driver was seen in the water.

Fire and Protective Services Water Rescue Unit was called into action. Within minutes, a man was pulled from the water and the boat was eventually brought to a stop.

Witnesses on the bridge stopped to watch the amazing rescue. Luckily, police say it was all part of a training exercise and no one was hurt.
