The Saskatoon Fire Department was called out Tuesday evening after reports that a city street sweeper tipped over.

A heavy rescue apparatus was dispatched to Avenue A and 19th Street at 9:30 p.m. When they arrived they found the street sweeper on its side with the woman who was driving trapped in the vehicle’s cab. She was conscious and appeared to be uninjured.

Crews used the winch on the fire engine to stabilize the street sweeper before rescuing the operator. They then used a heavy tow truck to move the sweeper to an upright position.

The operator was examined by paramedics at the scene. Her condition is unknown.
