CTV Saskatoon has been nominated for two Prairie region RTDNA awards, including one for best newscast and another for a story exploring diversity, while CTV Prince Albert has earned a nod for continued coverage.

The Saskatoon station's nominated newscast — the July 8, 2015 broadcast of CTV News at 6 — aired during the height of last summer’s wildfires and is up against two others for best newscast in a medium-sized market.

CTV Saskatoon reporter Angelina Irinici earned the station’s other nomination. She was nominated for the Adrienne Clarkson diversity award for her story called “Being Noah,” which features a young transgender boy. The award is given to a story that best exemplifies diversity.

CTV Prince Albert received its nomination for its continuing coverage of the wildfires in Northern Saskatchewan.

The Radio Television Digital News Association awards honour the best in Canadian journalism, programs, stations and newsgathering in radio, television and digital platforms.

The winners in the Prairie region will be announced next month in Medicine Hat.
