A Saskatchewan man has died of injuries suffered in a highway crash near Rosetown on Sunday.
Saskatchewan RCMP confirm that Ryan Bridger, 30, of Plato died in hospital Tuesday afternoon. Bridger was the driver of an SUV that collided with a car on Highway 7.
Bridger is the fourth person to die as a result of the crash. Three members of a B.C. family -- 47-year-old Douglas Janzen and his two daughters, 19-year-old Allie Janzen and 13-year-old Cassidy Janzen -- were in the car that collided with the vehicle driven by Bridger. Two other people in the car were injured. All five of the car's occupants are from Sorrento, B.C.
A 56-year-old man from Plato who was a passenger in the SUV also suffered injuries in the crash.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. RCMP say it appears the car was attempting to pass a semi-truck on Highway 7, just west of Rosetown, when it collided head-on with the SUV.
Police say the road was wet from recent rain at the time of the collision and visibility was reduced due to road spray coming off the semi.
