Saskatoon’s Broadway improvement project is underway.

Work on the five-month-long project began Monday at the intersection of 12th Street and Broadway Avenue. The city is performing extensive water main upgrades along Broadway, between the bridge and Eighth Street, and resurfacing several roadways in the neighbourhood.

Traffic will be restricted in the area for the majority of the summer, and a handful of bus routes will be affected.

The bridge will be closed, starting May 9, for about a week.

Broadway Avenue will remain open for business during the summer-long project, according to the city. Events like the Fringe Festival and Broadway Street Fair are still set to go ahead.
