Prince Albert police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the city’s first homicide of the year.

Jordan Christopher Herron, 20, is charged with first-degree murder and break and enter in relation to the death of 17-year-old Clayton James Bear.

Bear was shot in the early morning hours of April 14 at a home on the 500 block of 27th Street East. He died in hospital.

Herron appeared in court Wednesday morning. His case was adjourned until June 17.

A 25-year-old Alberta man is also wanted in connection to the homicide. A warrant for one count of first-degree murder and one count of break and enter has been issued for his arrest.

The man is in custody in Alberta on an unrelated matter but arrangements are being made to transport him to Saskatchewan.

Police said Wednesday the investigation is ongoing.
