Graphic anti-abortion flyers are sparking outrage in Saskatoon this week.

The flyers, which were distributed to a number of Saskatoon households and look to be a political shot at federal Liberal leader Justin Trudeau, show what appears to be a late-stage aborted fetus.

Carole Von Biela said she was horrified when her daughters found one of the flyers in their mailbox,Tuesday.

“They questioned ‘What is that? Why do their parts look like that? What happened to them?’ and so on. Questions that I really wasn’t prepared to answer when I came home from work,” Von Biela said.

Her kids should never have seen such graphic images, she said.

Some residents expressed their concern on social media.

“I will certainly support a campaign to stop this,” Sue Gogol wrote on Facebook.

“The home they put that flyer in may be the home of someone who had to abort their pregnancy not by choice or even if it was by choice it is still a loss you grieve,” Christina Zinger wrote. “It’s great to have opinions but don’t inflict your opinions on others unless they have solicited it.”

A phone number listed on the flyer leads callers to more anti-abortion advertising.

The flyers are part of a country-wide campaign by a group called The Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform, which is based in Calgary.
