RCMP say alcohol and speed are suspected factors in a fatal single-vehicle rollover in west-central Saskatchewan.

Police and emergency crews responded to the crash involving a pickup truck on a rural road near the community of Birch Lake, about three kilometres east of Maidstone, on Monday night.

The driver of the truck, a 23-year-old Lloydminster man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name hasn’t been released.

A 22-year-old Lloydminster man who was a passenger in the vehicle was transported by STARS air ambulance to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, where he is said to be in stable condition.
