Police were still trying to pull the wreckage apart as friends of a teenage boy who died in an early morning crash gathered to say goodbye.
Blair Quewezance, a 15-year-old from Saskatoon, died after crashing a truck into a metal pole around 3 am Thursday in the 300 block of 19th street East near the Broadway Bridge.
Police confirm speed was a factor.
"The vehicle was reported being stolen by a family member just prior to the collision,” said Kelsie Fraser, a spokesperson with the Saskatoon Police Service.
Friends tell CTV Quewezance left high school in January.
"He was a great kid. He had a good future going,” said his friend Starla Herlein, “He was trying but fifteen in this city. I can only imagine."
Police are trying to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
