A 27-year old man has been charged with manslaughter in the death of Brett Frenchman, 23, of the Moosomin First Nation.

Police were called to the Moosomin First Nation on Saturday, May 30, after Frenchman’s body was found. He had been reported missing by family the day before.

Officers from the North Battleford Detachment, Major Crime Unit – North, North Battleford Forensic Identification Unit and General Investigation Section and the Saskatoon Police Dog Services were brought in to help with the investigation.

The suspect, of no fixed address, made his first court appearance on Tuesday morning. Investigators say they are not looking for any additional suspects in the case.
