A new tool to save lives took to the sky in Saskatoon Thursday.
Premier Brad Wall along with PotashCorp president Jochen Tilk helped officially launch the AW139 helicopter at the STARS air ambulance base on Airport Road.
The $16-million helicopter can fly faster and go further than current aircraft without refuelling, STARS said.
The government provides STARS with $10.5 million a year for operating costs at the bases in Saskatoon and Regina.
