Canadians voted Saskatoon as the fourth unsafe city in the country, according to a new Mainstreet Research survey released Wednesday.

The survey showed 47 per cent of Canadians believe Saskatoon is safe, while 41 per cent think it is unsafe and 12 per cent are not sure.

The ranking included 15 major Canadian cities.

The survey asked 2,050 Canadians in August 2017, via landlines and cell phones, their perceptions of safety in major Canadian cities.

The margin of error in the survey is +/- 2.16 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

Winnipeg was ranked the most unsafe city, with Ottawa taking the title as safest Canadian city.
