Police Chief Clive Weighill locked the doors on the headquarters that has served the Saskatoon Police Services for decades.
The police service marked the formal transition to its new headquarters on 25th Street East with a parade through city streets and an opening ceremony Wednesday morning.
The doors to the old police station on Fourth Avenue were locked at 10:30 a.m. before officers paraded through the city towards the new headquarters.
An opening ceremony and the unveiling of a plaque officially opened the station.
The public was invited to join police for the ceremony, but tours of the building were not made available due to the ongoing move.
Public tours will be available at a later date.
