Saskatoon is becoming an “unaffordable place” to live, according to an housing survey conducted by a Western Canadian think-tank.

The survey by the Frontier Centre for Public Policy ranks housing markets by comparing the price of a home to the average income in that city.

According to the survey, Saskatoon has declined from being moderately to 'seriously' unaffordable and suggests the affordability of a home in Saskatoon is now equivalent to buying a home in Calgary.

The survey, which included more than 300 cities from Canada to Australia to Ireland, shows Hong Kong is the least affordable market, followed by Vancouver.
