Four people were stabbed in Saskatoon in less than five hours early Friday morning.

The first incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. outside a licenced establishment on the 2100 block of 22nd Street West. A 34-year-old man was assaulted and stabbed after approaching a group of people involved in a physical altercation, police said in a media release. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and drove himself to the hospital.

The second and third stabbings occurred at the 1700 block of 20th Street West.

Police were called to an apartment where a 39-year-old woman was found suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound. She reported being stabbed by a 41-year-old woman. The suspect fled but was chased by a man who was inside the apartment during the initial incident. She was assaulted and stabbed, police said, and walked herself to St. Paul’s Hospital despite suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The man fled the scene and is still being sought by police.

The fourth incident occurred around 5 a.m. A 27-year-old man, who said he was assaulted near the 200 block of Pendygrasse Road, attended St. Paul’s suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound.

Police said — apart from the two stabbings at the 1700 block of 20th Street West — the incidents are not believed to be connected.
