A man is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a truck on Highway 2 south of Prince Albert Saturday morning.

Police were called to the highway approximately two kilometres south of Prince Albert around 6:30 a.m. Saturday. A 21-year-old man was walking in the middle of the two-lane highway when he was hit by a truck travelling southbound, RCMP said in a news release. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver was not injured and remained at the scene for emergency personnel to arrive. According to police, there was heavy fog and low light conditions at the time of the collision.

The investigation is ongoing. Charges are not being laid at this time.
