Police have laid an additional 113 charges against nine men as part of Project Forseti – an investigation into organized crime that saw officers seize over 200 guns and $8 million worth of drugs.

The new charges include unsafe storage of prohibited firearms, possession of a prohibited device, possession of a controlled substance and carrying a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public.

The nine men, who are already facing charges in relation to the Forseti investigation, were arrested alongside five others in January, after Saskatoon police and RCMP raided nearly 20 properties across Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Nine homes and two commercial properties, including the Hells Angels clubhouse, were raided in Saskatoon. Residences in Saskatchewan’s Star City and Warman, and businesses in Melfort and Nipawin, were searched. Properties in Red Deer and Calgary were also raided.

Over five kilograms of methamphetamine, 2.6 kilograms of cocaine, 107 grams of heroin, 145 pounds of marijuana, 456 dilaudid pills, 454 grams of hash and 3,358 counterfeit Oxycontin pills — or fentanyl pills — were seized.

Seven vehicles, $100,000 in cash, tens of thousands of ammunition rounds, four ballistic vests, one conducted energy gun and about 200 firearms were also taken.

Police said at a press conference the drugs seized would value $8 million on the street.

Project Forseti, an investigation into organized crime, began in November 2013. Fourteen people were arrested following the raids. Police allege many of the suspects are linked to the Hells Angels and Fallen Saints motorcycle clubs.
