A 34-year-old man is dead after a weekend stabbing on a northeast Saskatchewan reserve.

The man was in critical condition when Tisdale RCMP and emergency medical crews responded just before 8 p.m. Saturday to a home on the Kinistin Saulteaux First Nation south of Tisdale.

The victim, who had suffered multiple stab wounds, died on the way to hospital.

Police arrested a 30-year-old man shortly after arriving on the scene and say the accused and victim knew each other. The victim’s name has not been released.

Jordan Thomas Lumberjack has been charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear Tuesday in Melfort Provincial Court.
