A man made his escape on a bicycle after the armed robbery of a grocery store in the 1600 block of 33rd Street West Wednesday evening.

Saskatoon police said a man threatened workers with a utility knife when they approached him as he tried to leave the store with stolen goods just after 6:30 p.m.

The suspect was last seen heading southbound on Avenue p. He is described as heavy-set aboriginal male, approximately 40 years old, with black hair and a clear complexion with no trace of facial hair, police said in a news release.

The suspect was wearing a grey bunny hug, black shorts, and brown shoes at the time of the incident.
