A 24-year-old man is in custody after a stabbing on Friday night.

Police were called to a home in the 1800 block of 20th Street West around 7:55 p.m. Friday. The victim had been stabbed several times, police said in a news release. The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Shortly after, police were called to a second home in the 400 block of Avenue U South where a man had broken in and was threatening a person with a knife. A man was arrested and an investigation found he was responsible for both incidents, police said in a media release.

The man is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
