The second of two men guilty in the death of a Prince Albert teen has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.

Orren Johnson, who was found guilty in February of first-degree murder in the death of 17-year-old Clayton Bear, was handed the sentence Wednesday in a Prince Albert court.

His co-accused, Jordan Herron, was sentenced last month to life in prison with no parole eligibility for 11 years for second-degree murder.

Bear was shot at a home on Prince Albert’s 27th Street East in April 2014 and died in hospital.

Murder carries a life sentence under Canadian law. First-degree murder sentences include no eligibility for parole for 25 years, while second-degree murder convictions can include parole eligibility after a minimum 10 years.
