Saskatoon police have been called in to investigate after a man died while in RCMP custody.
The man was found unresponsive in the cells at the RCMP detachment in La Ronge around noon on Sunday.
He was taken to hospital in La Ronge and later transferred to a Saskatoon hospital, where he died Monday.
The name of the 43-year-old La Ronge man hasn’t been released.
In addition to the independent external investigation, RCMP have asked the Ministry of Justice to appoint an independent observer.
