A group of Nutana neighbourhood residents affected by a riverbank slope failure may be getting financial help.
Saskatoon city councillors approved a recommendation at their meeting Monday that will see the city submit a request for assistance under the provincial disaster assistance program.
The program helps with uninsurable damages caused by natural disasters, but even with the city on board there is still no guarantee the province will approve the request.
The city says the slope failure affecting residents on a section of Saskatchewan Crescent and 11th Street is still unstable.
Some residents in the area claim the failure has caused more than $5,000 damage to their properties.
