Four people are facing charges after a stolen vehicle was reported to be driving erratically on Saskatoon streets Friday night.

Around 10:30 p.m., the Saskatoon Police Service says it received reports of a truck swerving from lane to lane in the 400 block of Confederation Drive. Moments later, a Canine officer spotted the truck at Circle Drive and Clancy Blvd. Police quickly determined the vehicle was reported stolen earlier in the day.

The Canine officer continued to pursue the vehicle through the Fairhaven and Parkridge neighbourhoods until other police units could respond. Once police units were in place, a traffic stop was set up, but the suspect vehicle evaded the area by reaching speeds of near 100 km/hr. The pursuit was stopped by police for safety reasons, however the suspects in the truck soon abandoned the vehicle on Gropper Crescent and ran in various directions on foot.

Two suspects were arrested immediately on the scene, while a police service dog with help from the Air Support Unit located two other suspects hiding nearby.

A 20-year-old man, along with a 16-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl, and a 14-year-old boy all from Saskatoon are now facing charges. Police say those charges include possession of stolen property, dangerous driving, possession of marihuana, and breach of court order. The four suspects will see a Justice of Peace on Saturday. No one was injured, except for the 20-year-old who received medical attention for a dog bite.
