School is out in Meath Park, Sask. after a fire broke out in the building on Thursday.

The blaze started around 11:00 a.m. According to police, students and staff were able to get out of the building safely, and no injuries were reported.

The building sustained significant smoke and water damage, and it’s unclear when students will be back in the classroom.

“There was a fire with significant damage to the backside of the school. At this time, we don’t know what obviously caused it. It’s quite the mess.” Chris McShannock, Lakeland District Fire Chief told CTV News on Thursday.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Meath Park is about 30 kms north-east of Prince Albert.
