A mass text message and Facebook posts advising of possible gang initiations involving firearms targeting random people has sparked an investigation by Battlefords RCMP.
The messages created concern among some people and have left some residents scared to go outdoors, but police say the messages should not prevent people from taking part their regular, daily activities
Police became aware of the message Thursday and while they don’t believe they pose an immediate threat to the public RCMP say officers are taking all necessary precautions in the possibility that there validity to the messages and posts.
RCMP are asking that any suspicious activities to the Battlefords detachment.
