An inmate who escaped from the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre in September has been arrested in British Columbia along with his female accomplice, according to Saskatoon Crime Stoppers.

The 34-year-old man escaped from the correctional centre on Sept. 24. He allegedly climbed over a fence before getting into a vehicle, Saskatoon police say.

Crime Stoppers tweeted Saturday morning that he and a 24-year-old woman are in custody. The post said the pair was arrested in British Columbia.

Saskatoon police confirmed their arrests Monday and stated the two will be returned to Saskatoon sometime over the next few days to face charges.

Two other men have also been charged, police said. The two are accused of aiding the inmate's escape.
