A 61-year-old man is dead after a crash near Prince Albert Friday.

RCMP were called to a stretch of Highway 3, about eight kilometres west of Prince Albert, just before noon.

An eastbound SUV collided with a westbound car, RCMP said.

The driver of the car died. The lone occupant of the SUV and the lone passenger in the car were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours as police investigated the crash. Witnesses said at the time the roads were slippery due to frost.

The name of the deceased has yet to be released.
