Fourteen men are facing charges in connection with a deadly riot at Saskatchewan Penitentiary last year.

The 14 range in age between 19 and 35 years old, according to RCMP. Charges include rioting while wearing a mask, wearing a disguise with intent, mischief over $5,000 and obstruction of justice.

About 200 inmates at the federal prison in Prince Albert were involved in the Dec. 14 riot, a member of the Union of Canadian Correctional Officers told CTV News last year.

One inmate, 43-year-old Leonard Bird, was killed and eight others were injured. RCMP say no charges have been laid in the homicide investigation.
