The body of a 71-year-old man was recovered Wednesday, one day after witnesses saw him disappear beneath the surface of a Saskatchewan lake.
A search by an RCMP underwater recover team discovered the body at Atton’s Lake Regional Park near Cut Knike.
Witnesses told RCMP that a man on an inflatable lounge chair was seen struggling to stay afloat in the water about 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The man was approximately 50 metres from the shoreline when he went under the water and did not resurface. A witness attempted to rescue the man but was unsuccessful.
The name of the man has not been released
