A lifesaving donation was made to the town of Radisson in honour of a boy who died when he was hit by a train in March of last year.

MD Ambulance and Crestline donated an ambulance to first responders in Radisson in memory of 10-year-old Ethan Manson.

His father, Bryan Manson, works for Crestline and is a volunteer first responder. He says the gift will help others in critical situations. The community didn’t have an ambulance until the donation.

“Right now, we drive a '78 ford. Doesn't run very well, doesn't function very well, there's not much room inside for patients. It was after Ethan's accident that we actually realized how bad the unit was,” Manson said Tuesday. “It shines a little bit of light on it, knowing that people are taking the opportunity to help us, to do some good out of something that was so wrong.”

The ambulance bears Ethan’s name on the back.
