A 20-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy are facing charges after a taxi driver was allegedly stiffed on a bill and threatened with a gun.
Saskatoon police were called to a home on the 200 block of McCormack Road around 9 a.m. Saturday. A woman who took a taxi to the address fled the cab without paying her fare and then entered the residence. The cab driver waited a short period before approaching the home, but as he walked up to the house, a male exited carrying what was believed to be a rifle.
Police attended the scene and convinced the occupants to exit the home. Officers discovered a pellet rifle after searching the residence. A police media release stated the pellet gun resembled an assault rifle.
The 20-year-old woman was charged with transportation by fraud and the 14-year-old boy was charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
