A man who has filed a human rights complaint against the City of Saskatoon and a city councillor about prayer at city events says he's willing to drop the complaint.

Ashu Solo's one condition is he wants the city to eliminate prayer or use a secular "thank you" message before civic events. He says the message should be similar to one he has drafted, or one he's agreed to.

He filed a complaint with the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission last year after he was offended to hear a Christian prayer at a city function.

The city is asking the commission to dismiss Solo’s complaint on the grounds that it is frivolous and made in bad faith.
