Snowfall warnings are in effect for several regions in the province, including Saskatoon, Humboldt, Martensville, Moosomin, Yorkton and Esterhazy.

An Alberta Clipper is moving across the prairies and heavy snow has already started. Environment Canada says accumulations of 10 to 15 centimetres are expected.

The City of Saskatoon already has crews out sanding and clearing roads, with priority being given to Circle Drive and streets like 8th St. 22 St. and Idylwyld Drive.

Contractors are also out clearing sidewalks, bike lanes, the bus mall and River Landing.

Winds gusting up to 50 km/h will also bring reduced visibility to many highways.

The Highway Hotline says travel is not recommended on most highways around Saskatoon and winter driving conditions exist on most highways in the rest of the province.
