A Saskatchewan man convicted of making and possessing child pornography has been handed a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence.

Robin Leier was given the sentence Friday in Saskatoon Provincial Court. The 43-year-old pleaded guilty last summer to one count of making child porn and two counts of possessing child porn, as well as 15 other charges, including drug possession, assault, resisting arrest and breach of court orders.

The Crown asked for a sentence of four and a half years, but the defence argued the prosecution’s request was too high.
