Saskatoon woman arrested following machete attack

A 55-year-old woman was arrested following a stabbing with a machete early Monday morning.

Officers were called to a suite in the 500 block of Avenue X South just before 2:30 a.m. with a report of a machete stabbing, according to a Saskatoon police news release.

When they arrived, police say patrol officers found a 29-year-old woman suffering from serious injuries and soon arrested a 55-year-old woman in the suite. The victim is recovering in hospital.

The Saskatoon police have not said if the 55-year-old woman was charged or released.

The investigation has been turned over to the serious assault unit.
