A teen is facing murder and organized crime charges in connection to the shooting death of a 26-year-old man in Saskatoon last year, police say.

The 15-year-old boy was recently arrested for the death of Dylan Phillips and charged with first-degree murder and committing murder for the benefit of a criminal organization.

Phillips died of a gunshot wound Oct. 14, 2016, at a home on the 1400 block of Avenue G North, according to police.

The death was the city’s 10th homicide of the year.

Police say the teen is also charged with two counts of assault with a weapon stemming from the same incident but involving two other people. He’s set to appear in court Thursday afternoon.

Major crimes police are still investigating.
