A Red Deer man is making it his mission to unite Canadians through art.

Tim Van Horn is a photographer who is travelling across Canada on a ten year project – and he wants to take your picture.

His goal is to take 36,000 pictures of Canadians by 2017, the country’s 150th birthday. He will then weave all the photos together in a giant flag.

Van Horn has crisscrossed the country four times so far, and has nearly 16,000 photos so far.

“The idea is in 2017 we need something real and something big to celebrate this 150th birthday. So I want this flag to bring this country together and say this is what life looks like, this is who we are.”

Van Horn and his van "Maple" will be at the Saskatoon Farmers Market Saturday, and his work can be viewed at http://www.canadianmosaic.ca
