One man is in hospital in serious condition after a fire on Saskatoon’s Grant Street.

Emergency crews were called to the fire in the city’s Forest Grove neighbourhood around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Saskatoon Fire Department says a mobile home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and that the blaze briefly spread to a second mobile home.

According to a spokesperson for MD Ambulance, one of two men assessed on scene was taken to Royal University Hospital with second-degree burns.

Firefighters had to deal with cold weather conditions and heavy smoke.

They managed to get the fire under control by 7:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. Damage to the first trailer is estimated to be $220,000. Damage to the second trailer is believed to be $80,000.
