Monday is Family Day in Saskatchewan. Here’s what’s open, closed and affected in Saskatoon because of the provincial holiday:

  • City hall will be closed
  • Public libraries will be closed
  • The city’s impound lot won’t be releasing vehicles
  • The Saskatoon landfill will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • City garbage and recycling collection will remain as scheduled
  • Saskatoon Civic Conservatory will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Pay parking stations won’t need payment, but drivers will still be required to park within posted time limits.
  • Transit services will operate under Sunday/holiday service
  • Access Transit will operate under holiday service from 8:15 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo will be open under regular operating hours
  • Parent and tot skating at ACT and Cosmo arenas has been cancelled, but both arenas will be hosting public skating events from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
  • Cosmo Civic Centre will be closed
  • Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre, Lakewood Civic Centre and Shaw Centre will be open from noon to 9 p.m., but some classes will be cancelled
  • Terry Fox Track at Shaw Centre will be closed
  • Lawson Civic Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but some classes will be cancelled
  • Saskatoon Field House will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some classes will be cancelled, but the facility will be hosting two holiday fitness classes — one at 10:30 a.m. and another at 11:45 a.m.
  • A Family Day event at Clarence Downey Speed Skating Oval will still be taking place, but the oval will not be open to skating because of the warm weather. The event will feature games, crafts, winter sports and a DJ.
