Two people suffered minor injuries after a vehicle drove onto a downtown Saskatoon sidewalk and struck pedestrians.

A woman and a youth waiting to cross the street at 2nd Avenue and 20th Street were struck around 9 p.m. Friday, according to police.

“They were hit by a vehicle that came up onto the sidewalk,” a police media release stated.

One of the two pedestrians suffered a broken ankle. A passenger in the vehicle was also injured. All three were taken to hospital.

Police said they’re still investigating the incident.
